The 75 Soft Challenge is an up-and-coming fitness trend created in response to an existing program called the 75 Hard Challenge.
As the name suggests, 75 Hard is a demanding program designed to challenge mental toughness with two 45-minute workouts each day (one of which must be outdoors), a strict diet, no cheat days or alcohol, a gallon of water per day, and reading ten pages of a self-improvement book every day for 75 days.
You’re not alone if all of this feels like too much to fit into your busy schedule. That’s why many people modified the 75 Hard to fit their needs and preferences, and that’s how the 75 Soft Challenge came about.
The 75 Soft Challenge takes the most integral parts of its harder predecessor to create something more manageable for the average person.
With 75 Soft, the rules are as follows:
- One 45-minute workout per day (one day of active recovery each week)
- Drink approximately one gallon of water per day
- Read ten pages of any book per day
- Eat a healthy, balanced diet and save the alcohol for social events
While the 75 Soft Challenge may still be difficult to maintain at times, you’ll have a better chance of balancing it with your life, and you’ll be able to reap the physical and mental benefits by the end of the 75 days.
Additionally, you may find that some or all of the tenets of the 75 Soft Challenge are habits that you can keep up indefinitely.
